Enhancing Patient Motivation For Entering Substance Abuse Treatment
In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of encouraging patients to engage in substance abuse treatment. Participants will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of a possible addictive disorder, and assessing patients' readiness for change. Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based intervention method, also will be covered.

Meet the Trainer
Gateway Lake Villa
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Sara Kozak serves as Admissions Manager for the Gateway Treatment Center in Lake Villa, IL. In her role, Sara collaborates with adults and teens in order to address their unique substance abuse issues and mental health care needs through the development of personalized treatment and recovery programs.
Sara shares her expertise and passion for her work as a teacher in the Graduate Addictions Certification Program at Aurora University in Aurora, IL. Prior to Gateway, Sara provided behavioral health consulting for Centegra Health Systems and managed drug detox for Colorado West Regional Mental Health Center in Glenwood Springs, CO.
Sara received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, and her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Webster University in Webster Groves, MO.
