Located in Central Illinois, Gateway's Jacksonville treatment center offers substance abuse treatment expertise, a supportive environment and access to healthy lifestyle activities needed to achieve lasting recovery. Personalized alcohol and drug treatment planning is available to accommodate individual needs.

Our Central Illinois treatment center specializes in providing substance abuse education and group counseling to help you, or someone you love get life back on track. Our experienced team helps you understand substance abuse, guides you to recovery and supports you every step of the way.

Meet the Jacksonville Staff

Gateway Foundation - Central Illinois locations

Kerry Henry has been with Gateway Foundation since 1994 and has worked in both the community and corrections divisions during her career. Since 2009, Kerry has been in an executive leadership role overseeing the central Illinois programs including Springfield residential and outpatient centers, Pekin outpatient center and more recently Jacksonville residential, recovery home and outpatient center.

She graduated with a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC). Kerry is very proud to work for an organization that is a leader in the industry that genuinely cares about those who are suffering from substance use disorders. She finds working in the field to be challenging but rewarding in that, "We have the ability to help people regain as well as change their lives for the better."

Katarzyna (Kasia) Loniewska, MSW, CADC
Clinical Supervisor
Gateway Foundation – Jacksonville

Joining Gateway Foundation in 2015, Kasia has been working in the field of substance use disorder treatment since 2008, working in inpatient and outpatient settings with a variety of populations. Having supervised clinical staff at previous agencies, she has continued to stay passionate and committed to providing direct counseling services to clients as well. Her previous experience includes working in inpatient and outpatient settings; providing group and individual therapy, being a health educator and counselor for individuals with HCV. One of her most recent accomplishments includes being a part of starting first of its kind residential program specifically serving polish speaking substance users in Chicago.

Kasia obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Northeastern Illinois University. She then received her master's degree in social work, specializing in mental health, from University of Illinois at Chicago. She is also a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC).

Denise Skinner, CADC, LCPC
Residential Counselor III
Gateway Foundation – Jacksonville

Denise has been with Gateway Foundation since 1998, servicing both youth and adult populations in a residential setting. Her experience includes treating clients with co-occurring disorders as well those who have experienced trauma. She conducts individual and family sessions and specializes in suicide-risk assessment. Denise works closely with treatment referral sources to provide a seamless continuity of care. Denise is passionate about helping clients achieve their treatment expectations and assisting them with being successful post-treatment.

Denise obtained her bachelor's degree in sociology from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois and later earned a master's degree in child, family, and community service from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC).

As part of your treatment at Gateway, we work hard to make sure most of your needs are cared for. Typical Day in Treatment

Schedules are developed so individuals can participate in group therapy, family visits and education, as well as health and well-being. This is only a sample schedule to give you an idea of what a typical day and week in Residential Treatment will include. Schedules will change to fulfill your specific needs while in treatment at Gateway.
