Gloria Bloodsaw believes that taking the extra time to get to know individuals helps to improve their quality of life and leads to lasting recovery. "During one memorable admission, one additional question made the difference of the client agreeing to in-patient treatment. Gateway takes the time to do that."
Gloria is a liaison between Gateway and the Chicagoland area. She serves as a vital resource in the community by providing education, resources and support. "Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Gateway recognizes that teens and the elderly have different needs for treatment than a 35-year-old may need. We work to treat the unique needs of every individual, and we provide people with the treatment they need for lasting recovery."
Gloria received her BA from Michigan State University. When not at Gateway, Gloria enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Helping others in their time of need is the most rewarding aspect of Community Outreach Coordinator Becky Thompson's role at Gateway's Aurora Treatment Center. "My most memorable experience at Gateway Foundation is when I met a very successful business woman who entered treatment at Gateway more than 20 years ago. To this day, she is sober and doing wonderful."
In her efforts to raise awareness of substance abuse issues and address area treatment needs, Becky spends most of her time in communities throughout Northern Illinois. She enjoys introducing guidance counselors, medical professionals, business owners, lawyers and concerned parents to the informative substance abuse resources Gateway offers.
Becky received her Bachelor's degree in Marketing from St. Joseph's College. When she isn't working, Becky enjoys spending time with her family as well as a good mystery, gardening and tennis.
