Alcohol Rehab Program

Alcohol Rehab Program

The alcohol in the beverages people drink acts as a sedative drug and can be addictive when abused. Gateway’s alcohol rehab program is very similar to our drug rehab treatment. Alcohol rehab treatment begins with an initial confidential screening interview and Intake assessment followed by a nurse establishing a health history and a physician review to determine any dual-diagnosis such as depression, bi-polar disorder, or other concurrent mental health problems.

An individualized alcohol rehab treatment plan includes:

  • Education about alcohol abuse, substance abuse addiction, alcohol rehab treatment and recovery.
  • Group therapy where a trained alcohol rehab counselor helps patients see what their substance abuse is doing to their lives and what they can do about substance abuse recovery.
  • Individual alcohol rehab counseling to deal with issues that may be too sensitive for a group setting.
  • Introduction to self-help to sustain substance abuse recovery.
  • A substance abuse aftercare plan.

Gateway has established a number of alcohol rehab alternatives to ensure that each client will receive the best possible alcohol rehab treatment to overcome their substance abuse problems. Alcohol treatment begins with confidential pre-screening and then progresses to a more formal intake interview and assessment. After both a nurse health history and a doctor’s report are completed, Gateway develops a formal alcohol rehab treatment plan. Information is at hand 24/7, enabling efficient monitoring and adjusting of substance abuse treatment.

As follow-up after alcohol rehab treatment, we encourage regular participation in self-help fellowships such as Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous and following their 12-Step Program to staying sober. For teens, we encourage self-help and the Seven Challenges program developed Dr. Robert Schwebel.
