Mary Henton, MS, MHA, CADC
Executive Director, Chicago Northwest and Chicago Kedzie
Mary Henton makes things better for Chicago-area residents by providing access to high-quality drug and alcohol treatment that is needed throughout the community. "The most rewarding part of my job is seeing people get better: become better parents, better neighbors and better citizens." Mary has been with Gateway for more than 20 years. She started as an Executive Secretary and has received promotions to Business Manager, Program Manager and now into her current role as Executive Director. "Gateway's staff is totally committed to its mission; I am so proud to be a part this dedicated, professional team."
Mary holds a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University and a Masters of Health Administration from Governors State University.
When not making life better for others, Mary betters herself by learning new things and taking new classes such as cooking, self-improvement and decorating. She also enjoys watching the Chicago Bulls and the White Sox and admits to being a huge boxing fan.
